Bay Area artist Gina Borg's small works on canvas and paper are a gratifying addition to Jancar Jones' snug new gallery space. Marks and shapes cluster together in focused swarms, quietly suggestive of teeming insect life or botanical growth. In passing, her compositions manage to allude to both Mark Rothko and Carl Jung. Borg's spherical, hazy clouds are spartan and meditative, but her nimble explorations of color gradients, her rich textures, and her delicate hand ensure that this restrictive aesthetic never casts a stern tone.
