Abbie Hoffman stated the obvious when he titled his autobiography Soon to Be a Major Motion Picture. The volatile, vocal (and later diagnosed bipolar) prankster was the subject of a recent biopic, as well as Brett Morgen's 2007 documentary Chicago 10. The film combines animation with archival footage of the 1968 Democratic National Convention and its ensuing trials (some called it police-state persecution). It seems Abbie and a crew of yippie radicals put their anti-money where their mouths were, and attempted a revolution (some called it rioting). For a while, they lit up the country's television news.
