This annual festival presents a broad spectrum of narratives crafted by contemporary filmmakers who draw on personal experiences, both as queer women and as representatives of cultures infrequently seen in cinema. This year, the spotlight falls on directors of Asian/Pacific Islander descent. The festival includes a retrospective of films by award-winning British director Pratibha Parmar; on Saturday at 2pm, join Parmar for a discussion of her three featured films — Khush, Bhangra Jig, and Wavelengths — which explore the lives of gay minorities with candor and passion.
