Music: Rock/Pop Detroit Cobras w/ Les Sans Culottes and Hi-Nobles

Detroit's retro-inspired garage group might not write their own songs (they crib them from esoteric '50s and '60s rock and soul albums). But frontwoman Rachel Nagy sings the hell out of each, wrapping her husky, cigarette-scratched voice around each reworked tune — from Art Neville's "I Wanna Know What's Going On" to Leadbelly's "On a Monday." Les Sans Culottes, Brooklyn's Francophone popsters, warm up the stage with a repertoire that also draws on the past; you can hear the undertones of Serge Gainsbourg and Mott the Hoople in the Gallic drawl of (American) lead singer Clermont Ferrand.
