Wholphin, the quarterly DVD magazine published by McSweeney's, brings together enigmatic shorts that are by turns provocative, comical, and bizarre — and all exquisite in their own ways. The sixth issue features an evocative adaptation of an Elmore Leonard story; a hilarious and strange TV version of the radio program Car Talk that takes place in the Australian outback; and a documentary about a class of Chinese third-graders whose democratic election for classroom monitor seems to comment on the current state of American politics.
