Music: Rock/Pop The Dodos w/ the Ohsees and dreamdate

Local songwriter Meric Long first hooked up with rapid-fire drummer Logan Kroeber in 2006 for the excellent self-released CD Beware of the Maniacs, under the Dodo Bird moniker. Now attributed to the Dodos, the duo's newest effort, Visiter, is already stirring up bloggers and critics with its irresistible, Animal Collective-ish melodies, bubbly acoustics, and wired toy-piano interludes. Throughout, Long sings in a tender rasp, avoiding the usual indie-rock caterwaul of indifference. Catch the band before now, before it heads to the larger stages of the summer-festival circuit.
