A documentary about the commercialization of yoga in contemporary America, John Philp's Yoga, Inc. explores the darker side of the downward dog. Philp spotlights the hypocrisies of Bikram yoga founder Bikram Choudhury, whose copyrighted style and demand of strict adherence to his rules has led to a series of lawsuits against his former devotees. The film also looks at the increasing numbers of franchise studios and their focus on profitability, begging the question of yoga's future as a spiritual practice in our modern age.
