Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Chris Hedges brings his reporting acumen to bear on the oft-unspoken costs of the Iraq War in his latest book, Collateral Damage: America's War Against Iraqi Civilians. Tonight, he visits the World Affairs Council to share some of his bleak findings from extensive interviews conducted with Iraq veterans — first-hand sources that act as important correlatives and correctives to abstract statistics. Hedges is fluent in Arabic and previously reported from hotspots like El Salvador, Jerusalem, Sarajevo, and Kosovo — experiences that put him in a unique position to frame these newest casualties of war.
