Now in its fifth year, the SF Indie's Another Hole in the Head Festival features two weeks of sci-fi and horror films from around the world, including graphic Japanese gore-fests, obscure outer-space gems, and zombie classics. Highlights include a 40th-anniversary screening of the classic space-vixen romp Barbarella; campy gay-monster movie Imp of Satan; and the West Coast premiere of The Machine Girl, a revenge thriller about a robotically enhanced schoolgirl out for blood. An opening party at Annie's Social Club kicks it all off, featuring festival shorts and previews, plus Russ Meyer-inspired psychobilly from Thee Merry Widows.
