"Lazer bass" may be the buzzed-about genre-du-jour, but Orlando's South Rakkas Crew deserve a few air-horn blasts for bridging the electro, hip-hop, and dancehall divides. Their debut, Bionic Ras Riddim Riddin #1, is the sound of a pinball machine in heat — the perfect setting for Sizzla Kalongi's frenetic "Spring Break." They've since remixed artists as diverse as Lilly Allen (using her sunny "LDN" as the stage for a low-end turf war) and the Bug. Tonight, the SRC hit San Francisco's urban Tormenta Tropical club, delivering a crash course in how to scalp a subwoofer.
