Heavy Winged is the perfect name for this young band's maximalist, phantasmal thunder. They assume the shape of a traditional psychedelic power trio but, instead of shepherding noise into the gates of a repetitive riff, attack their instruments with the ferocity of peaking free-jazz players. They've refined a sculptural approach across several limited CD-Rs, and now they touch down in San Francisco with copies of their latest mind-melter, Alive in My Mouth. Local openers Barn Owl produce exquisite drones, and One & Seven Death features members of experimentalists Oaxacan and Ettrick.
