After 27 years of melting minds with their bold cross-pollination of hardcore, psychedelia, and ethnomusicology, Sun City Girls came to a sad end this past year when they lost their drummer, Charles Gocher, to cancer. The band's discography is large enough to support decades of listening, but for this memorial concert, surviving members Alan and Richard Bishop pick a few cherries for two acoustic sets. The show at Maxwell's marks the end of the brothers' three-month journey — it's your last chance to pick up a couple of tour-only releases, and perhaps your last chance to hear Sun City Girls' music performed live.
