Music: Experimental Tussle w/ Christopher Willits, the Drift, and Eyes

San Francisco may be 6,000 miles from Berlin, but local quartet Tussle turn out propulsive motorik grooves that are as authentic as Deutschland's best. Despite the genre's reputation for chilliness, the band's production emphasizes warm electronic squiggles and a fat, rump-shaking low end. Founding member Alexis Georgopoulos departed after 2006's Telescope Mind, but since the addition of Tomo Yasuda's funky bass work has added depth to the group's four-on-the-floor foundation. Cream Cuts (two years in the making) finally drops in August, but dedicated Tusslers can check out the band's brand-new bag at this prime Mission Creek Music Festival bill.
