Music: Rock/Pop Devon Williams w/ the Starlite Desperation

Over the past decade, the Starlite Desperation (product of San Fran, Detroit, and LA) have assumed many forms, from punk then post-punk to melancholy garage rock. Their latest incarnation draws heavily on the Detroit scene, blending a distinct blues sensibility (à la Jack White) with gritty punk undertones. Take it Personally, the most recent release, features Dante Adrian White's distinctive wail, set against a lush sound that's more grandiose than his band's earlier lo-fi work. Tonight, they support Devon Williams, whose jangly, orchestral indie rock recalls '60s pop and Cali's current batch of freak-folk all stars.
