Prolific artist, poet, and dramatist Federico García Lorca was both gifted and deeply tortured; he was only able to express his inner turmoil through his art works. Under the direction of Wolfgang Thompson, Pangs Theater Ensemble performs three of Lorca's tragedies — Blood Wedding, Yerma, and The House of Bernarda Alba — written only a few years before their author's untimely death at the hands of the Nationalist militia. The production emphasizes the actors' movements and the spaces between them, adding a level of physical intensity to spurned passion, repressed emotions, lust, and betrayal.
