Although its name might be a sign o' the times, the Download Festival's headlining performances by post-post-punks the Jesus and Mary Chain and Gang of Four should offer plenty of incentive for the pirating masses to put their laptops to sleep. A veritable iTunes playlist of heavily buzzed bands — Brand New, Mute Math, Yeasayer, M83, and Blitzen Trapper among them — rounds out the meaty lineup, with even a few bones (Cut Copy, Datarock) thrown to the club kids. Sure, you could catch the performances on YouTube the next day, but for 20 clams, there's really no excuse to be a mouse potato.
