Note: The July 31 date has sold out.
Since the '70s, Mierle Laderman Ukeles has collapsed conventional social boundaries in her artwork; for one of her most famous pieces, Touch Sanitation, she thanked and shook the hands of New York City sanitation workers. Ukeles' Day of Transfer and Exchange again creates interactive opportunities, this time in conjunction with her Birthing Tikkun Olam installation at the Contemporary Jewish Museum. Participants can offer a simple "covenant," a commitment to active personal or social transformation written on a piece of paper. In exchange, you can keep one of the mirrors Ukeles made by hand for the exhibition.
