About eight years ago, a San Francisco artist named Someguy labeled 1,000 blank notebooks with instructions: add a drawing, story, confession, or anything else to it, and pass it along. When it's filled, return it to Someguy. The journals were dispersed throughout the world, from the Bay Area's nooks to Croatia's crannies. Only one, Journal 526, came back to Someguy. Andrea Kreuzhage, whose production credits include SLC Punk! (1998) and Ave Maria (1999), chronicles the search for the others in 1000 Journals. She interviews 500 of the countless contributors as she traces the pages to Australia, Canada, Brazil, and farther.
