Christened LaDonna Gaines, '70s disco queen Donna Summer grew up in urban Massachusetts under the strict influence of gospel. An introduction to dance legend Giorgio Moroder later led the singer to the poppers-soaked discos of Studio 54. Back after spending a long time in the corner, Summer's ready to work hard for the love and the money; she hits town tonight in support of her latest album, Crayons — her first new record in 17 years — which features tracks from producers such as Greg Kurstin (The Bird and the Bee) and Ziggy Marley.
