B-movie auteur Roger Corman brought none other than Jack Nicholson's script to the big screen in The Trip. The film stars Peter Fonda as a TV-commercial director with marital troubles who experiments with LSD. His ensuing adventures lead him from the strange goings-on at Arthur Lee and Love's house to a psychedelic beachside rendezvous. With gorgeous, period-appropriate cinematic renderings of acid hallucinations (photo effects and body paint, groovy tunes by the Electric Flags), appearances by Dennis Hopper and Bruce Dern, and a bizarrely earnest cameo by Gram Parsons' International Submarine Band, this is, indeed, a trip worth taking.
