With ex-members of the notoriously violent Buzzov*en, an album recorded by Steve Albini and released on Southern Lord records, and quite possibly the most blatantly druggy name in all of stoner metal-dom, Weedeater have quite a reputation. Combining the massive blues-metal of Electric Wizard and Sleep with the crushing volume and distortion expected of any band signed to Sunn 0)))'s label, Weedeater keep things blissfully simple and loud, while never forgetting what their sub-genre is really about: songs with names like "$20 Peanut," "Weedmonkey," and "Wizard Fight."
