Ask a Scientist: Robots

The monthly Ask a Scientist series ingeniously marries beer-swilling with intellectual enlightenment, discussing everything from amnesia to linguistics to number theory. Tonight's all about robots, just in time to celebrate (and explain) the automated fire-breathers at Black Rock City. David Calkins, lecturer at SF State's Department of Computer and Electrical Engineering and founder of the combat-oriented ROBOGames, provides a brief history of robots while speculating as to what the future holds for our mechanical friends. And, of course, he'll open the floor to questions, so you can finally find out everything you've ever wanted to know about remote-controlled monkey robots.
