Revenge of the Nerds meets High School Musical in this musical satire of sad-sack teens with angular hair cuts. The underdogs in Joey Price's silly send-up of all things emo wear their angst-ridden hearts on their sleeves and complete the look with thick black glasses and skinny jeans. Thankfully, the performers of Beards Beards Beards Theatre Company don't have their tongues so firmly planted in their cheeks that they can't sing their lines. More importantly, Price makes room for a little sincerity amid all the woe-is-me power ballads and non-sequitur plot twists involving killer asteroids.
