Trains may not have the same hold on the popular imagination as they once did, but a recent flurry of films and books (Who is Bozo Texino?, RR, and William T. Vollmann's Riding Toward Everywhere) shows that the railroad is still a classic American symbol. Indeed, the time is right for a solo art show dedicated to buZ blurr, a longtime boxcar artist sometimes called the "Colossus of Roads." Would-be train-hoppers will rejoice in blurr's stencil profiles and documentary photographs. Tonight, he makes the trip from his home in Arkansas (which he colorfully describes as "Surrealville") to share some of his life and work.
