Gravelly-voiced singer Will Johnson must love the name game. The Texan once released a home recording as Centro-matic entitled South San Gabriel Songs/Music, but since then, the "South San Gabriel" motif has emerged as its own eponymous project. His latest, Dual Hawks, is split between jangly Centro-matic songs and his more brooding compositions as South San Gabriel. Double dip in Johnson's gorgeous alt-country at this special Rickshaw bill, which also features Jim Ward's (At the Drive-in, Sparta) whiskey-soaked side project, Sleepercar.
