Jana Hunter has been a mainstay in neo-folk circles since her gleefully fractured genre picked up critical steam around five years ago. Even with hands in projects by every luminary from Devendra Banhart to Deer Tick, Hunter has remained unapologetically underground. Her work ranges from gorgeously noisy cassette releases on Fuck It Tapes to last year's lovely take on folk tropes, There's No Home. With a voice that veers from placid to scathing in a single breath, Hunter is one of the true originals in a crowded scene. Lesser Gonzalez Alvarez, Hunter's current guitarist and a musician's musician in his own right, opens.
