Since parting ways with Interscope last year, industrial-music impresario Trent Reznor has taken a stand against corporate interference and high consumer costs. He's recently self-released two albums through his website, offering tiered pricing structures that give fans the option to download for free. Of course, low-budget releases are nothing new to Reznor: his canonical debut, Pretty Hate Machine, was one of the first independently released record to reach platinum status. Continuing to confound expectations, his current tour fleshes out the minimalist electro-acoustic compositions on his recent Ghosts series, bridging divides between fuddy-duddy classical composition and the Downward Spiral set.
