Encyclopaedia Metallum lists a whopping 12 bands named Witchcraft, two of which are from Sweden. Only one of these bands sports cable-knit sweaters and bell-bottoms — the one that recently released The Alchemist — and unabashedly cops early Sabbath, Pentagram, and other heavy psych-rock bands from the '70s. The band's new effort reaches in poppier directions, at times even sounding a bit garage-y, paying homage to the 13th Floor Elevators and Donovan as they forgo the hallucinogenic, pentatonic-scale jam sessions in favor of more straightforward rock. TK Webb & the Visions kick off tonight's journey through time with their folky psychedelia.
