Groupthink might seem antithetical to artistic practice, but Rock Paper Scissor Gallery's first show of the new year assembles an intriguing cross section of young artists — including Julie Hwang, Robin Putnam, Esther Samuels-Davis, Justine Lai, Kenneth Arthur Dwyer, and Melanie MacTavish — whose work shares a certain synchronistic charge. Regardless of whether or not you believe in a collective unconscious or surreptitious mind-melds, the mix of drawings, paintings, sculptures, and prints in It's Happening All the Time… evinces a sharp curatorial eye for association. But things really come together for two musical performances, with Alex Gair and the Yellow Souls, the Cleveland Browns, Arthur Dwyer, and the Histories all bringing the noise.
