The Noir Fest is back, with a gritty lineup of double bills designed to recreate a trip to the cinema of the '40s. The festival kicks off with Deadline U.S.A. (1952), a keen showcase for Bogie as a rogue journalist battling infamous racketeers. Noir vixen Arlene Dahl makes a special appearance between screenings of her sexy thrillers Wicked as They Come (1956) and Slightly Scarlet (1956). Also featured are a few true rarities — Cajun caper Cry of the Hunted (1953) and an early Signe Hasso in Strange Triangle (1946) — along with pulpy classics such as The Harder They Fall (1956) and The Killers (1946).
