The Art of Coraline
-
- Still from Coraline
The soon-to-be-released film Coraline, a 3-D stop motion adaptation of Neil Gaiman's children's horror novella, may feature the most disturbed use of buttons in cinema history. The Cartoon Art Museum showcases over 80 stills, drawings, puppets, and props used to bring Coraline's through-the-looking-glass adventure to life. Over 300 artists from the Portland-based studio LAIKA labored for three years to handcraft every detail of the journey, and their handiwork is as intricate as it is creepy.
