With its unique focus on films made with "disposable" devices (cell phones, point-and-shoot cameras, webcams, single-use recorders), the Disposable Film Festival gleefully proves that we're all moviemakers at heart. The fest's short-film competition brings together hand-selected entries from around the world, while the weekend's artist showcases include a screening of Red Bucket Films' Buttons and an artistic profile of Fritz Donnelly — whose disposable-DVD empire has a cultish online following. On Sunday, the festival culminates with a free filmmakers panel, where attendees can explore the technology and ideology behind the throwaway phenomenon.
