While the Bay Area is lucky enough to count experimental music luminary Fred Frith as a local resident (Frith has been Professor of Composition at Mills since relocating to California in 1997), rarely do we get a chance to see his talents so perfectly matched to those of another musician as equally sensitive to the dynamics of the moment. Luckily, Swissnex has arranged a concert with Frith and Switzerland's Hans Koch, who has also pioneered augmenting acoustic instrumentation with electronics. Get ready to watch these masters of improv at work.
