"Music takes me where I want to be," goes a line in an old disco song by Musique — and DJ Tim Sweeney certainly understands dance music's ability to transport us to a fabulous, sweaty, and very funky elsewhere. As listeners of his WNYU Beats in Space radio show know, Sweeney's mercurial and expansive sets feature the sounds of bygone destinations such as the Paradise Garage and the Music Box, while still keeping one ear cocked to the present. To celebrate a decade of keeping the airwaves fresh, Sweeney takes over the decks of the Triple Crown, kicking off what's to become a monthly residency. Frequent BiS guest, and excellent nu-disco producer in his own right, Brennan Green also digs into his record bag, along with locals Ryan Poulsen (Gun Club, Booty Bassment) and Limowolf.
