Diplo's not the only one who can play the international tastemaker game — move over carioca, and make way for kuduro. Mixing chaotic baile funk rhythms, low-tech Bmore beats, synth-heavy retro techno, tribal dancehall, and fierce Portuguese rapping, the genre has found an ambassador in Buraka Som Sistema. The Angolan/Portuguese quartet already caught the ears and heart of M.I.A., who lent her vocal talents to a track on its album, Black Diamond.
