As much as a religion-bashin' atheist like Jello Biafra would hate to hear it: God bless him. The Dead Kennedys founder and frontman has exhibited a life-long dedication to getting the painful truth out via DIY means, including running imprint Alternative Tentacles. This year marks the granddad-of-indie-label's big 3-0, and to celebrate AT's roster is taking over the Great American Music Hall, with a different headlining set by Jello and his band, Guantanamo School of Medicine, every night. Opening acts vary. On Thursday, ska punks Citizen Fish, Star F*cking Hipsters and MIA (the LA hardcore band, not Maya Arulpragasam) support; Friday features female metal valkyries Ludicra, with Munly & the Lupercalians and Knights of the New Crusade; and the bash closes out Saturday with reformed NYC spazz-rockers Alice Donut, Victims Family, and Burning Image.
