San Francisco's own Gama-Go started nine years ago, when three friends began screen-printing t-shirts in a Glen Park basement, creating playful designs featuring retro-mod Godzillas, yetis, and feline ninjas. The company has since upgraded its digs to a slick SoMA store/studio, and expanded its product line to include graphically-enhanced bags, wallets, housewares, and other quirky accessories, all designed locally and produced in limited runs. Once a year, Gama-Go marks down the year's odds, ends, and rarities and lets the public dig in. Well-timed for the holidays (or lucky Capricorns), the annual sample sale gives San Franciscans some major hook-ups — because a giant squid-imprinted hoodie is truly the reason for the season.
