The Phoenix Theater says…

In honor of Nicolai Gogol's 200th birthday, the renowned International Theater Ensemble has created a three-part experiment in narrative, centered on some of the writer's best stories. Moscow-trained director Oleg Lipstin leads the ensemble in the project's first installation, The Nose — the beloved absurdist tale of a nose that declares independence from its face. Lipstin promises a performance that merges classical storytelling with modern sensibilities, and live acting with interactive video technology — including components for audience members' iPhones — all in the unconventional spirit of Gogol himself.
