Once dubbed "the naughty boy" of the dance world, Paul Taylor might well be the most sought after choreographer working today. At 77, Taylor has spent more than 50 years shaping modern dance, with works that are both innovative and unapologetic. After a year's absence from San Francisco, Taylor returns with a commanding set of nine works, including the West Coast premiere of Beloved Renegade, a dance inspired by Walt Whitman. Other highlights include Changes, a tribute to the turbulent '60s backed with music by the Mamas and Papas, and a revival of Taylor's legendary Scudorama, unperformed since 1973.
