The aptly titled Heroes and Villains is an eclectic exhibition bringing together a spectrum of works that focus on everyone's favorite moral battle: good versus evil. The artists range from underground-comics creators to illustrators and painters, and the result is delightfully diverse: Graham Annable's quirky stick figures are on display beside Alika Cooper's ghostly portraits and Ben Catmull's baroque anthropomorphic animals. The opening coincides with Oakland's First Friday festivities, which provide their own adventure in high art.
