Touring is an exhausting affair. For indie-pop purveyors Headlights — who logged over 300 shows in support of their debut EP, Enemies, and full-length followup Kill Them with Kindness — a well-deserved rest was in order. For its sophomore album, the Champaign-based trio retired to a downstate farmhouse to record new material. The result is a softer, slower, simpler effort, flush with delicate acoustic guitars and hushed vocals. But diehard fans need not fret: the outfit's signature dream-pop keyboards and harmonies are still front and center.
