Oakland's historic Paramount Theatre presents a new installment in its Movie Classics series: Alfred Hitchcock's Notorious (1946). Starring Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman, this melodrama follows American agent TR Devlin, who must convince the woman he loves to seduce a Nazi spy. The film is set in Rio de Janeiro during World War II, and features a signature Hitchcock cameo (man guzzling champagne), plus Grant and Bergman's famous kiss-of-all-movie-kisses. Notorious is screened complete with classic newsreel and cartoon, and remember to arrive early for cocktails and live organ music.
