Ever wonder how vanilla extract gets from the bean to the bottle? Or maybe how curries are flavored, from plant to plate? The Conservatory of Flowers has all the answers in this unique exhibit devoted to edible plants. Arranged in gardens by locale, Edible Expeditions brings together tasty wonders from all over the world, including rarities such as the North American chocolate-pudding tree, South America's irresistible ice-cream bean, and the Asian jackfruit (the world's largest fruit tree). The exhibit also features video demonstrations of food processing and examples of packaged foods from around the globe, making it a truly well-rounded delectable display.
