Sunday's parade kicks off at 10:30am at Market and Beale Streets.
With frustration growing over President Obama's condescending and ill-thought-out brand of "fierce advocacy" on behalf of LGBT Americans, this year's Pride celebration will probably be the most politically charged in some time. Personally, we believe that nothing goes better with flotillas of scantily clad go-go boys, community business representatives atop convertibles, scads of drag queens, and, of course, the Dykes on Bikes than a healthy dose of righteous indignation. The timing couldn't be more appropriate, given that this year's festivities also mark the 40th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots; so be fabulous, be fierce, and, come Sunday, go forward demanding nothing less than full equality under the law.
