Tackling what our president refers to as the "unlikely story that is America," 17 companies hailing from points near and far descend on the intersection of Florida and Mariposa for foolsFURY's biannual celebration of the power of small-ensemble theatre. On tap are Beyond the Mirror, a tale of heartbreak and hope intermingled with myth and family lore about American military occupation in Afghanistan; The Barber of East LA, a rumination on queer Latino culture in Los Angeles during the Reagan era; and the fast-paced, off-the-wall Vicious Dogs on the Premises, a smattering of modern dance, live video projection, and dog-training exercises.
