As the Renegade Craft Fair boasts on its handmade-feeling website, it's one of the country's biggest and best-known craft events. (Born in Chicago, it led to spin-offs in Brooklyn, LA, and, now in its second year, San Francisco). Most of the 200-plus vendors are savvy, independent designers with their own companies — rather than homespun iconoclasts — so the fair is "renegade" in name only; but that's why it's a reliable destination for distinctive goods. Here's your chance to swim in a sea of hand-printed cards, silk-screened posters, t-shirts, jewelry, and inspired odds and ends.
