Roxie Theater says…

That been-around-the-block moxie; that sultry sophistication; and, of course, those eyes. There are many reasons why Bette Davis was one of the greatest actresses ever to grace the silver screen, but her x-factor has long held — indeed, continues to hold — particular sway over gay men. Local filmmakers Mike Black and Carole Summers delve into the uniquely queer appeal Davis has held for cinephiles, film historians, and drag performers. Actor Matthew Martin — who has the uncanny ability to channel classic Davis performances, from All About Eve to Whatever Happened to Baby Jane — heads up a gaggle of gushing fans (including Peaches Christ), reflecting on what attracts them to such a gorgeous, brittle, and fierce patron saint.
