As thousands of super-hero fans flock to San Diego for Comic-Con, San Francisco is throwing a celebration to honor heroic local organizations which have bettered the communities they serve, be it through arts outreach, mentoring programs, or grassroots activism. Here's your chance to strut your stuff in the latest spandex hero-wear, check out Hunter's Point Open Studios, or dance away the afternoon in one of the many musical zones provided by sound systems as diverse as Opulent Temple, Brass Tax Boombox, the Climate Theatre, and the Vowel Movement Beatboxers.
