Nosaj Thing is the alias of Jason Chung, a 24 year-old L.A. based glitch-hop artist and producer whose perfectionism inspires the of use nearly any object capable of making noise to create his eerie, elegant tracks. While glitch-hop is ostensibly the marriage of hip-hop and electronic music, Chung’s uncharacteristic sound is derived from a wider range of influences — one of his tracks is tellingly titled "1685/Bach" — resulting in a sound that at times seems to drift away entirely from the genre's roots to chart territory few other laptop maestros have dared to explore.
