San Francisco City Hall says…

San Francisco is often described by its square mileage (7x7), but the city's Art Comission Gallery and PhotoAlliance have expanded those dimensions for 10x10x10 — a free-ranging survey of photography that takes over City Hall's ground floor. The numbers break down like this: SFAC and PhotoAlliance chose ten local arts professionals who each then chose a photographer with local ties who they felt deserved greater recognition. Those ten photographers in turn chose ten pictures they deemed representative of their work. Of particular note are Chris McCaw's solarized pin-hole landscapes, whose burnt gashes trace the sun's movement; Alexander Martinez's funny, candid snaps of urban life; Eric Percher's disturbingly sterile portraits of that recent endangered species, the white-collar finance worker; and Mary Parisi's surprisingly sensual images of packaged meat.
